The 33rd Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival (HSDFF) is coming and Arkansas PBS will be there supporting local and emerging filmmakers. Arkansas PBS is a resource and outlet for independent filmmakers in the state and wants to help encourage the art of storytelling and the production of nonfiction film by participating in the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival from Oct. 20 through 23.

Get out your detective gear. Arkansas PBS is pleased to announce several community events for its all-new original series “Mystery League.”

Geared toward children in kindergarten through second grade, “Mystery League” is a live-action series designed to teach valuable lessons about friendship and community. The fun-filled events are set to kick off on Thursday, Oct. 26, offering attendees a chance to enjoy exclusive presentations of two episodes from the new educational series, learn a dance, partake in engaging activities, share snacks and take home their own Mystery bag.

Hosted by PBS and co-hosted by Arkansas PBS and Virginia Public Media, this event will give attendees a true taste of the south.

Philander Forward Film Series

Arkansas PBS and Philander Smith College have partnered for Philander Forward Film Series, a new screening series designed to unite students and communities through films illuminating the Black experience and telling stories that matter. Each event will feature a historical or contemporary film and leave room for dialogue, reflection and the opportunity to explore issues relevant to the world today.

The Philander Forward Film Series is free, open to the public and welcomes students, faculty and all communities to connect to the campus community through film.
