Along with your weather forecast, Arkansas PBS has some hot days ahead with new content, and we want to keep you informed.

“Celebrating Arkansas: Holiday Traditions”

Join professional DJ and “Celebrating Arkansas: Holiday Traditions” host Mario Luna, as he scours the state for the most interesting, time-tested Arkansas celebrations. In the Fall episode of this new series, Luna will get the inside information on the Hindu festival of Diwali, as well as the spooky details on Halloween and Día de Los Muertos in different communities across the state. Finally, Luna will complete a Turkey Crawl as he celebrates Thanksgiving a handful of different ways, while learning the lesson - no matter the celebration, it’s better together.

“Celebrating Arkansas: Holiday Traditions” will take audiences on a journey across the seasons and across state as Arkansans share the recipes, memories, family rituals and time-honored traditions that bring their loved ones together. Tune in Monday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m., or Thursday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m.

Arkansas LIVE

Arkansas LIVE gives you a front-row seat to engaging events around the state from the comfort of your own sofa. If you’re unable to attend the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame in person on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6:30 p.m., we’ll be multi-camera live streaming all the excitement on our website and on the Arkansas PBS YouTube channel. Watch as both contemporary and historical women are honored for their contributions to Arkansas. Check out the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame playlist on our YouTube channel to learn about some of the past honorees who continue to inspire us all.

“Arkansas Week”

Last month, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-America Emmys recognized two of Arkansas PBS’s own. Steve Barnes, our longtime “Arkansas Week” host was named as a Gold Circle Honoree for his illustrious 50 years in journalism. “Arkansas Week” contributor, Donna Terrell, was inducted into the Silver Circle in recognition of her impactful 37-year journalism career. You can watch both Steve and Donna at 7:30 p.m Friday evenings on “Arkansas Week,” on demand on the PBS App, on our YouTube channel or on our website.

New Arkansas PBS website

You’ll soon see a new look on the Arkansas PBS website. You’ll still be able to watch all four of our channels - and you’ll learn about upcoming events and the local programs you love, all with an improved experience. Whether you’re visiting on a computer, tablet or mobile device, the streamlined design and content will be easier than ever to navigate.
