CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Arkansas PBS invites media to attend a two-day filming event for the second season of “Arkansas Treasures” – the network’s original production that provides evaluations from professional appraisers for collectibles and antiques – Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13.
Members of the media must reserve a time to attend the taping by contacting Tiffany Head at thead@myarkansaspbs.org or 501-682-4157.
What: “Arkansas Treasures” encourages supporters from across the state to bring treasures from their attics, basements, barns and beyond to be evaluated by a professional (for entertainment purposes only) and potentially have their stories shared in the broadcast series. Professional evaluators will meet with individuals to learn more about their heirlooms, collectibles and garage sale finds, and viewers will get to hear some of the most fascinating stories of how these items were acquired and how much each is potentially worth. Amory LeCuyer, owner and lead appraiser for Hampton House Auctions in Yorktown, Virginia, serves as lead appraiser for the production.
When: Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Where: Arkansas PBS, 350 S. Donaghey Ave., Conway, on the University of Central Arkansas campus. You may park in the large parking lot behind Reynolds Performance Hall and enter the studios through the rear glass doors closest to the UCA Mass Communications building.
Who: Lead appraiser Amory LeCuyer and several other professional evaluators, Arkansas PBS Foundation CEO Marge Betley, Arkansas PBS producers and staff, community volunteers and ticketed participants.
Major funding for Arkansas Treasures is provided by The Moving Image Trust Fund. Additional funding is provided by Cherokee Nation Businesses and the ESSE Purse Museum.
