Aug. 22, 2024

Free estate planning guide available

CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — August is National Make-A-Will month, and the Arkansas PBS Foundation is offering Arkansans a free personal estate planning toolkit, designed to help individuals start organizing and thinking through their personal goals. Toolkits can be requested during August or any time of the year by visiting myarpbs.org/plannedgiving, emailing legacygifts@myarkansaspbs.org or calling 800-662-2386.

According to caring.com’s 2024 Wills and Estate Planning study, estate planning is one of the most overlooked areas of personal financial wellness. It is estimated that two-thirds of Americans do not have any estate planning documents. In the event of sickness, accident or untimely death, a will or trust can help protect individuals and their family. Organizing financial assets and thinking through personal goals can also help avoid unnecessary expenses and financial hardship for loved ones.

Additionally, individuals can make a difference that will last for generations to come by placing Arkansas PBS Foundation as a beneficiary in one’s will.  More information can also be found on our blog at myarpbs.org/blog.

“For more than 55 years, Arkansas PBS has empowered learners of all ages,” Arkansas PBS Foundation CEO Marge Betley said. “Valuing excellence, innovation and collaboration, Arkansas PBS delivers compelling local productions alongside classic, trusted PBS programs. An investment in Arkansas PBS is an investment in the education, culture and future of Arkansas.”

Anyone interested may request a digital planning guide at myarpbs.org/plannedgiving. To receive this free booklet by mail, individuals may contact legacygifts@myarkansaspbs.org or call 800-662-2386.
