Election 2024: Arkansas PBS Debates

Before you vote this fall, make sure that you know your candidates and their stances on the issues that matter to you! “Election 2024: Arkansas PBS Debates” will feature candidates in four races, including U.S. Congressional Districts 1,2,3 and 4. Watch “Election 2024: Arkansas PBS Debates” live and on demand at myarpbs.org/elections Oct. 7-10; the debates will rebroadcast each evening and again Nov. 3.

The following candidates have committed to participating in Arkansas PBS’s debates:

U.S. Congressional District 1 – Incumbent Rick Crawford (R), Rodney Govens (D) and Steve Parsons (L).

U.S. Congressional District 2 – Incumbent French Hill (R) and Marcus Jones (D).

U.S. Congressional District 3 –  Caitlin Draper (D), Bobby Wilson (L) and incumbent Steve Womack (R).

U.S. Congressional District 4 – Incumbent Bruce Westerman (R) and Risie Howard (D).

All debates will be held at the Arkansas PBS studios in Conway.

The debates will livestream and air at the following times:

Monday, Oct. 7
U.S. Congressional District 2: live at 2 p.m., reairs at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 8
U.S. Congressional District 1: live at 11 a.m., reairs at 7 p.m.

U.S. Congressional District 3: live at 1 p.m., reairs Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 10
U.S. Congressional District 4: live at 2 p.m., reairs at 7 p.m.

Debates will rebroadcast in their entirety Nov. 3, beginning at noon. All debates will be available for on-demand viewing after broadcast on myarpbs.org/debates.

In advance of debate week, “Arkansas Week,” Arkansas PBS’s flagship public affairs program, will examine proposed ballot initiatives on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. Currently there are three ballot proposals scheduled to appear on the ballot: Issue 1 – Lottery Proceeds for Scholarships; Issue 2 – Repealing Casino License & Requiring Local Vote; and Issue 3 – Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment. Joining the conversation will be Stacey McCullough and Kristin Netterstrom Higgins of the Public Policy Center, UA System Division of Agriculture.

Then, on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m., “Arkansas Week” will feature candidates in the Arkansas Treasurer of State race. John Pagan (D), Michael Pakko (L) and Secretary of State John Thurston (R) have all been invited to participate.
