Arkansas PBS to host free screening events of ‘Wilmar June Dinner’ at Juneteenth celebration events
CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Arkansas PBS is partnering with Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) and the city of Wilmar for free preview screenings of a new documentary short, “Wilmar June Dinner,” produced as part of the Arkansas PBS series “Celebrating Arkansas.”
Filmed in Wilmar, Arkansas, “Wilmar June Dinner” follows the story of this small southeast Arkansas town and its role in holding one of the longest-running Juneteenth celebrations in Arkansas history. June Dinner in Wilmar has been celebrated since the late 1800s and the documentary short celebrates and explores the history and relationships that draw people back to Wilmar year after year.

- Dee Brown Library, CALS Branch Library, Little Rock, Monday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m.
- Rooker Library, CALS Branch Library, Little Rock, Thursday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m.
- Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Little Rock, Saturday, June 15, at 12:15 p.m.
- Wilmar June Dinner, Wilmar, Sunday, June 16, (screening time to be determined)
- McMath Library, CALS Branch Library, Little Rock, Monday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m.
- Brooks Library, CALS Branch Library, Wrightsville, Tuesday, June 18, at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
