Development & Community Relations Coordinator
Arkansas PBS Foundation seeks an energetic and detail-oriented emerging leader as its new Development & Community Relations Coordinator. The Development & Community Relations Coordinator (DCRC) is an essential member of a dynamic team that provides critical financial support for Arkansas PBS, Arkansas's only statewide media network.
Responsibilities
The DCRC plays a leadership role in recruiting, managing and stewarding a robust cohort of volunteers and helping to manage events for Arkansas PBS. DCRC responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work with Arkansas PBS Foundation and Network leadership to identify volunteer needs and opportunities;
- Reach out to universities, corporate employee groups and beyond, to cultivate and recruit volunteers;
- Schedule and track volunteer participation through our volunteer database;
- Steward volunteers to show our appreciation and retain their commitment;
- Participate personally in quarterly on-air fundraising campaigns and other events to serve as on-site liaison and manage volunteers;
- Manage community events including the annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive, appearances at Farmers Markets and others.
- Assist with management of larger events like Family Day, including securing community partners, performers, etc.
In addition to the Volunteer and Events management aspects of this position, the DCRC will work with the Corporate Relations Officer to cultivate, solicit and steward Arkansas PBS Business Memberships. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Reach out to small businesses across the state for lower-level event sponsorships and/or AR PBS Business Memberships;
- Sponsorship/Business Membership revenue tracking;
- Annual renewal communications and ongoing prospect/funder communications and stewardship.
This position reports on a dotted line basis to both the Foundation Operations Manager (for volunteer and event management) and to the Corporate Relations Officer (for Business Member revenue generation), and works closely with all Foundation staff, as well as Arkansas PBS Network Marketing.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who's a self-starter, highly collaborative, detail-oriented and committed to serving our community. Outstanding time management, customer service skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently are paramount.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising and/or volunteer and event management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with databases and knowledge of CRM (customer relationship management) systems strongly preferred.
Some evenings and weekends required, as well as occasional travel. An Arkansas driver's license is required.
This position requires extended periods of standing and sitting, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
