Arkansas PBS has won two Public Media Awards from NETA in its 55th annual competition — including Community Initiative - “Rise and Shine, Season 2” and Kids and Family - Arkansas PBS Family Day 2022.
Winners were announced Sunday, Sept. 10, during the Public Media Awards Gala during the 2023 NETA Conference and Corporation for Public Broadcast Thought Leader Forum.

Community Initiative - “Rise and Shine” Season 2
Kids and Family - Arkansas PBS Family Day 2022
Arkansas PBS hosted Family Day at its statewide network headquarters in Conway for the first time since 2016. This free public event encourages community spirit through family-friendly fun, entertainment and educational activities. It was easily our most successful by virtually every qualitative and quantitative measure.
This year’s theme was “‘C’ is for Community,” allowing families to enjoy all that public media and its partners offer Arkansas, from A to Z. Special guests for the day included Alma from “Alma's Way,” Buddy from “Dinosaur Train,” Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George and Daniel Tiger.

Awards were judged by a group of expert panelists from within the public media system, as well as industry professionals working outside of public media. Except for the overall excellence categories, stations completed within their appropriate divisions based on their station size.
