Studio Systems Engineer
The Studio Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of video and audio routing, distribution networks, and studio systems wiring at Arkansas PBS. This position not only involves managing technical operations in the Network Operation Center (NOC) and Master Control but also entails vital responsibilities such as configuration, damage reporting, system design and integration, and daily maintenance—all key components that contribute to the success of our broadcasting efforts.

Responsibilities:
- Manage Network Operations Center(NOC) and Master Control systems.
- Make recommendations for equipment and software purchases, system design, upgrades, and replacement.
- Perform maintenance and repair responsibilities in conjunction with asset management and auditing functions, ensuring that all equipment operates optimally and tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with broadcasting and organizational standards.
- Engage in hands-on installation, integration, maintenance, and repair.
- Oversee the management of the studio routing and distribution equipment.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all equipment related to broadcast network systems, including signal distribution and wire maps.
- Collaborate closely with the IT department to facilitate the upkeep and enhancement of video storage solutions, graphics systems, network clients, and equipment connectivity, ensuring seamless operational performance.
- Manage video and audio quality control systems, ensuring that all signals operate within required specifications.
- Provide or coordinate staff training on equipment operation, techniques, and software applications.
- Design, integrate, and maintain server infrastructures, systems, and data storage networks.
- Develop and install IP-based video and audio distribution systems.
- Work closely with Production Systems Engineer to provide live event support for remote and in-house productions. Works with the Programming and Traffic departments to achieve the desired outcome for on-air programming.
- Create and implement systems to support diverse production applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus, two years of experience in electronics repair and maintenance or related area.
Desired Qualifications
- AAS or certificate qualifications in a Technical or Media Production Field.
- Trade training or certification in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in maintenance of studio production equipment or related fields (Military electronics, AV install background, or Video and Audio Production).

Learning Management System Analyst
Learning Management System Analyst
Arkansas PBS is looking for a Learning Management System Analyst to support our award-winning ArkansasIDEAS program. Since 2005, ArkansasIDEAS has connected K-12 educators with quality, online professional development, and educational opportunities. The Moodle-based learning management system currently has over 90,000 users, primarily teachers and other school district personnel who take our online courses to maintain their teaching licenses or fulfill different requirements. This position will work collaboratively with both IT and education personnel to provide professional services for ongoing administration and application support, including custom designing, system maintenance, and user support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Totara LMS application, configuration, and daily activities of the LMS, including custom LMS user enrollment processes
- Troubleshoot LMS application issues and perform LMS updates as needed/available for security, functionality, and user experience
- Manage user accounts in Totara LMS, develop and run reports, and assist in maintaining operational courses and user records
- Work in compliance and collaboration with the Director of IT and IT staff, education staff course designers, and help desk personnel
- Provide user and helpdesk support for the Totora LMS by delivering first-level assistance for tools and software used by help desk personnel
- Issue second-level support to help desk staff regarding course functionality and LMS operations through phone and email for inquiries that exceed their expertise
- Assist course developers with technical design, troubleshooting design issues, and resolving PHP and SQL database application errors.
- Maintain and debug web applications by editing and updating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Utilize SQL and other reporting tools to create administrative reports.
- Perform general system administration for Windows, Linux, and OSX, performing installation, upgrades, and support
Minimum Qualifications
- The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field.
- Four years of experience in data processing or computer operations, including one year in a leadership capacity.

- Two years of experience with learning management systems, such as Moodle LMS, SQL, Linux, and PHP applications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate power tools, and reports on maintenance and repairs needed in maintaining facilities.

- Lead in strategic planning efforts by delivering critical insights and recommendations regarding the status of equipment, the necessity for maintenance or replacement, and potential purchasing requirements.
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Building maintenance - building wooden structures, painting, floor finishing, etc.
- Utility maintenance - replacing faulty plumbing fixtures, repairing broken pipes, replacing electrical fixtures and receptacles, servicing refrigeration units, etc.
- Fleet maintenance - rebuilding small motors, overhauling carburetors, tuning up vehicles,
- Maintain records and prepare reports, including vehicle utilization, equipment history, and materials purchased.

- Two years of experience in general maintenance

A contributory/non-contributory retirement plan for public employees. Arkansas PBS contributes 15 percent to both contributory/non-contributory plans. All new employees are enrolled in the contributory plan which requires a 7 percent employee contribution. Health Insurance
Eligible state employees may choose one of three provided insurance plans. Cost of health insurance coverage is shared between employer and employee; premiums are deducted from bi-weekly pay. Eligibility: New hire state employees on the 1st day of the month after 30 days initial employment.

Annual Leave
Annual leave accruals begin on the first full month of employment. Accrual increases are based on continuous years of service. Unused annual leave time will carry over to the next year provided the 30 day maximum is not exceeded. Eligibility: All regular, full-time employees. Job share employees accrue leave time on a pro-rated basis. Extra help employees are not eligible for annual leave.

Sick Leave
All regular, full-time employees earn 12 days of paid sick time per year (8 hours per month). Unused sick leave will carry over to the next year provided the 120-day maximum is not exceeded. Eligibility: All regular, full-time employees. Job share employees receive leave time on a pro-rated basis. Extra help employees are not eligible for leave.
Other Paid Time Off
Jury Duty: Employees who miss work while performing jury duty will receive normal and full compensation.
Maternity Leave: Eligible female employees can take up to 4 weeks of paid leave after the birth of the employee's child or placement of an adoptive child in the employee's home. Paid maternity leave will run concurrently with Family Medical Leave. Eligible male employees can take FMLA after the birth or placement of a son or daughter or to bond with a newborn or newly placed son or daughter.
Military Leave is granted at the rate of 15 days per calendar year, plus necessary travel time for annual training purposes. Up to 15 military leave days may be carried over to the succeeding year for a maximum of 30 military leave days for that calendar year. Eligibility: All employees who are members of the National Guard or any other of the reserve branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
