Senior Marketing Student at the University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas PBS intern

As some of you may know, I have been the summer intern here at Arkansas PBS for a couple of months now. Sadly, this is my final week, and my final blog. I learned so much in my time here from all the amazing people I had the chance to learn from. To my benefit, I have created several blog posts, and social media posts since I have started, including the social campaign I have been running about one of our favorite shows, "Sherlock”.

I will be finishing the series this week, so tune in on the Arkansas PBS Instagram or Facebook for my final thoughts (I’ll know if you don’t). Let me say right now, it has been a whirlwind of emotions. It’s crazy to think about when I started episode one…I had no idea what was in store for me. From meeting Sherlock and Watson, to briefly saying goodbye to Sherlock, to watching the last episode and I have loved every second of it.

If you haven’t watched "Sherlock” on Arkansas PBS’s Passport do yourself a favor and watch it, you won’t regret it. And if you’re like ‘What’s this Passport you speak of Janie?’ - let me tell you...it’s the best streaming deal out there. Instead of paying a monthly subscription, you donate. You can start with a monthly, tax-deductible gift of $5 or a yearly amount of $60 or more. When you become a member, you get extended access to PBS shows, films, and specials on-demand. You can stream documentary films and shows, binge period dramas, tap into your creative side, and so much more. Also, by donating you are supporting your local community.

On a different note, I just finished all my courses for my undergraduate degree (yay me!), which means a couple of things. First, I have only ever known what it is to be a full-time student. PBS has given me the amazing opportunity to get some real-world experience in the field of Marketing, and I have done everything I could to soak it all in.

Second, it is now my time to enter said real-world (adulting, yay!). Yes, I have learned lessons in Marketing with Arkansas PBS, but I have also learned what it means to depend on others and be dependable. I have learned what it means, feels, and looks like to be fully devoted to what you are working on. Most importantly I know what it feels like to be a part of a hard-working and supportive team. I have absolutely loved my time here at Arkansas PBS (I hope y’all have too), and I will miss it greatly. Thank you for following along with me and thank you Arkansas PBS!
