Happy Voluntine’s Day!
No, that’s not a typo. At Arkansas PBS Foundation, we love our volunteers so much, we decided to celebrate Voluntine’s Day this year and share what you mean to us. Taking a cue from poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning, “Let me count [just a few of] the ways.”
- You make a BIG impact. In just the past six months, you worked an amazing 1,637 hours for a total value of $42,001! Through your work at community events and with local productions, you’ve provided educational resources to families and shared inspiring Arkansas stories. Through your many hours on the phone during on-air fund drives, you’ve helped to raise the contributions on which we rely. Through your work in the Foundation’s office, you’ve kept our members informed about everything going on at Arkansas PBS. You make a HUGE difference, and we love you for that!
- You are true partners in our mission. Based on conversations with so many of you, we know you care deeply about our mission. After volunteering in the studio, Jen from Little Rock said, “I believe in PBS, and experiencing what goes on behind the scenes only made me believe in it more.” Christina from Heber Springs, who volunteered for Family Day, knew her “time was well spent helping children discover the joy of reading.” We are lucky to work alongside so many passionate volunteers, and toward the same goals. You work hard to help us achieve our mission, and we love you for that!
- You make everything fun! Everything is better when you’re around! We share a lot of laughs with our volunteers and love getting to know you. Whether it’s for one-time events or weekly office support, having you work alongside us makes us and our community members smile. Some of you have even dressed up as Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Daniel Tiger and more, unleashing your goofy side for the good of thousands of smiling kids. Simply put, you make every job more fun, and we love you for that, too!
On this Voluntine’s Day, we hope you know how much you are loved and how vital you are to the success of our work. Thank you so much for who you are and everything you do!
